  • Topology Versatility: The dual RJ45 ports allow the coupler to act as a line or star topology endpoint. The upper port connects to the network segment, while the lower port interfaces with downstream EtherCAT devices.
  • Placement Restrictions: In an EtherCAT network, the BK1120 can be positioned anywhere along the 100BASE-TX signal transfer section, except directly connected to a standard Ethernet switch (it requires an EtherCAT Master or an appropriate junction component like an EK1000).
  • Configuration: System integration and parameterization can be handled via the Beckhoff KS2000 Configuration Software or through EtherCAT ADS (Automation Device Specification).
  • Diagnostics: Features onboard LEDs indicating the status of the EtherCAT state machine (RUN and ERROR), alongside standard indicators for the 24 V coupler supply and active power contact bridging.
